Install an expired certificate - "There is a problem with this website's security certificate"
Hello everybody, I'm connecting to an OWA for an Exchange 2007 with IE8 on Windows 7. Anyway, my problem doesn't especially concern Windows 7, neither IE8. It is actually also a problem on IE7 .. When i'm connecting to the OWA, i have the message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" saying that the certificate is not trusted or is invalid or has expired. It's just annoying as it's my e-mail client and i'm going on it everyday. So i choose to continue so that i can access to OWA. Then, i tried to click on Certificate Error and View certificates in order to install it but when i do this, i can see that my certificate has expired. Well i don't mind, i just want to install it. It's not working !I can install an expired certificate but it's useless. I just wanted to know how i can put an exception to this website as in Firefox ?Thanks !

You state the certificate is invalid because it has expired. Because of that Windows will always warn you about this certificate. Even if you don't mind it has expired. This is one of the basic checks for certificate validity. If it fails the certificate is invalid, period. As far as I know there is no way to validate an invalid certificate. If you think of the purpose of the certificate this is perfectly valid. If you compare this with using a passport in real life, you will meet the same issue when you try to pass the border. Customs will notice the passport has expired and will not accept it. The officer can see it is you, but the procedure tells that he cannot identify you based on an expired piece of paper.Just renew the certificate and you will be fine.Ray
